1. Sign and submit our online petition.
Please click here to submit an electronic petition to Murrysville Council, asking them to pass the pending Oil and Gas Ordinance, in order to put more protections of health, welfare, and safety into law than what the 2012 Oil and Gas Ordinance provided. The electronic petition language is different from the paper petition that many residents have already signed because of recent developments at Murrysville Council meetings, namely that leaseholders and drilling companies object strenuously to any increase in the setback distance beyond 500 ft and do not want Council to pass the pending ordinance. The intent of the electronic petition is to let Council know that concerned residents do want an increased setback distance of at least 800 ft (as it is currently written) and want Council to enact as many protections of residents' health, welfare, and safety as the law allows. All petitions submitted will be presented to Council at the next scheduled Council meeting. Please share this link on social media!
2. Sign our paper petition.
Please click here to download our paper petition to Murrysville Council, asking them to prohibit fracking in residential areas and to increase the setback distance between well pads and homes to at least 2000 ft. You can either mail it to Council using the address at the bottom, or email it to murrysvillewatch@gmail.com to be submitted with other petitions at the next Council meeting. (Jpg and pdf format are both fine if you are submitting a petition by email to murrysvillewatch@gmail.com. Many residents have found the easiest way to do this is to sign and print the download, and then simply take a picture of the signed document with your phone camera, and email the image file, which we will then print out and submit on your behalf..)
